We’re so happy and proud to share that Buyagift is now a carbon neutral company – it’s official! Leading the way as an environmentally responsible business, we’re wholeheartedly committed to making a true difference, now and in the future.

We called in the experts, South Pole, an independent sustainability consultancy, who did the difficult number crunching and measurement of our emissions for us – in granular detail for absolute accuracy. All the way down to our customer travel to and from their experiences! Focusing on the financial year of 2019–2020, South Pole measured our carbon footprint through Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol – the internationally recognised standard for corporate emissions.

An integral part of this project, to offset our output we lead several rewarding community-led carbon avoidance and removal programmes around the world. You can find our contribution in countries such as Rwanda, Nepal, Cambodia and more. Supporting initiatives such as the supply of safe water, to modernising energy sourcing for cooking.

We strive to continue finding new ways to reduce our emissions. But that isn’t enough. We need all business leaders to say enough is enough and follow suit in the fight against carbon, too. 2020 was recorded as the hottest year since records began ^[1]

CO2 levels in 2020 were recorded as high as around 410PPM (parts per million). These CO2 levels haven’t been reached in over 800,000 years, according to research by Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
